Year 6 performed a disco routine to 'I Will Survive'; magnificent moves and fabulous fun!

Hi class pals,

We're 5 students from a school in the U.K. We got your email and it was very interesting. Our class is alot different to yours, were mixed, boys and girls. There are 25 people in our class, 9 boys and 16 girls.

Our school is in the freezing U.K, we have 2 buildings one for the older kids and one for the younger kids. We have jobs like Prefect, office duty, ICT monitor and lots of other jobs in the classroom Me and Kieran do afternoon book monitors! We have a Number club on a Friday lunch but that's only for yr6 (its great practice for the SATS!!) speaking of things in our school we have 2 magazines (mags) one called Twist and the other called Mage. They're made by me (Katie),Jodie,Caitlin, Millie, Martine and Ella (Twist) and Niall Daniel M Daniel B and Kieran (Mage). We have been learning about John Fitzgerald Kennedy this week. Yesterday we were writing a newspaper report about him. It said that in 1963 John Fitzgerald Kennedy was shot 3 times with 1 wound in the head and another 2 in the throat. He was accompanied by his wife Jacky Kennedy. The shots were fired from the School Book Depositary. The alleged assassin was Lee Harvey Oswald and he was about to get put in jail when he shot the nearest police officer and got put in jail. A few days later, Lee was shot by a night club owner Jack Ruby.

Almost a month back our class went to a place called Howtown for a trip it cost £145 plus the deposit of £20 for the people who were on school dinners for free it was £65. First we met in a room and got told what rooms we were in. Our activities on Monday were jumping in the lake. On Tuesday we canoeing, making shelters and a nightline. 

Wednesday we went to the Tunnels and then we got blindfolded on the night and I was the leader to guide everybody. On Thursday we did gorge scrambling and at night we all had a fire. On Friday we went home.

The children in the UK like to play on Call of Duty and Fifa are some of the popular games do you play these. our prime minister is David Cameron what is your president called? What music do you like Psy is popular in our country. There are 2 school magazines called Twist (girls) and Mage (BOYS).

I'm also going to tell you a little bit about style in the U.K. At the minute the style is chinos, hightops, NY hats (purple), flossys and lots of other things!

In school, we have been learning about WW2.  In ww2 there were airplanes called Spitfires. They dropped bombs on Germany and other contry in the war. Hitler died in ww2 when they were getting bombed.

My nan's life in world war 2

On Sunday i went to my nan's. I took a few notes and her cousin Jack was an evacuee, her nana Sue she dyed her curtins light red.  All the sweet prices were all cheap but she did not have any money, for all the riches the could by rich expencev tabaco for there wifes or for them.  When she was 18 she was engaged to Alin Frame, all her friends said you can't get maried when the war is still on? But she still did.  Potatoes were so famous they made soup out of it. by Hollie

My Hobbies are swimming having fun in the street/school playground with my all of my friends in the same class and some out of the lower school today I was playing with a little girl called Paige and she was clinging to me all the time before me Chantelle,Ebony and Bethany went in for dinner she was crying because she didn't want me or anyone to leave and then we had to go up to Paige because she actually was crying her head off now thats it from me (Amy)

On Friday it was Children in Need (a charity) and we are dressing up it will be fun. I am dressing up as Pudsey what are you dressing as? I bet your costume will be Pudsey as well we can buy bands and Pudsey keyrings for 50p and £1.00 and you can hang them to your trousers. I hope it will be fun. by Bethany

Recently, our class went on an adventurous trip. On Monday 8:40 everyone who was going to Howtown got on the bus and set off. Mums and dads were crying . It took 2hours to get there. We did canoeing, climbing, tunnelling and jumping in the freezing lake.

In the United kingdom there is a special time of the year called Halloween and Bonfire Night. On bonfire night you find loads of wood and sofas also doors when it gets dark you get a lighter and light it then all of the wood burns you set some fire works off too. What kind of fireworks do you have? (by Dylan)

I am going to introduce ourselves  to your school,

Hello friends I'm going to tell you about the people writing this letter. First there's Daniel Blake who is really clever and funny, then there's Kat Pinmanee from Thailand who is really good at art, now for Millie Hindson who is really tall, Annis Bland is shy and quiet, Bethany W who has a high pitched laugh and doesn't stop talking and then there's me Ben and I am very good at football!

Recently we have been on a class trip to Howtown in Ullswater in the Lake District,England. On the Monday we arrived and jumped in the river, on Tuesday we went canoeing and on the night we did  different indoor activities. On Wednesday we in the tunnels, in the play area and raft building. On the Wednesday night we did nightline using a rope to guide us through the woods. On Thursday we went rock climbing and gorge scrambling and we had a fire on the night. On Friday we came home to Tanfield Lea!

Our school has 7 classes from Reception to Year 6. In our school, we have a radio station. Our school radio is a very good success we have about 20 people on the radio. From every class we have about 4 groups. me and my two friends called Caitlin and Katie have a show on the radio called CKB. Also my friends have a show called THE MILLIE AND JODIE SHOW it's cool. The queen celebrated her diamond jubilee on Sunday 5thJune 2012. She has been on the throne for 60 years.

Olympics:

The Great North Run:
The great north run, which is 3 miles long, starts at Newcastle and finishes at South Shields. I took part in the junior one and my teacher, Mr Temple, took part in the adult one.
Also, in January we celebrate New Year’s Day.
In February its valentine’s day but every 4 years we have a leap year.
In March it’s Milie's birthday.
In April we have Easter.
In May we have 2 bank holidays (which is an extra day offJ).
In June we have sports day in our school.
In July we break up from school and have our 6 week holiday.
In September we go back to school.
In October we have Halloween.
In November we have bonfire night to celebrate the great gunpowder plot.
In December it’s the best month of the year because it’s CHRISTMAS and New Year’s Eve.
