As our school embarks on a blogging project with David Mitchell, for the foreseeable future our class blog is at mrtemple201415.tanfieldprimary.net. Same great content so come and have a browse!
One of the tricky parts of Maths to remember is about measures because you have to know how to convert (change):
For kg and g, l and ml, km and m, you need to multiply and divide by 1000. Eg. 5 kg = 5000g, 4.64 l = 4640ml etc. For mm and cm though you multiply and divide by 10. Eg. 10 cm = 100 mm, 71 mm = 7.1 cm Finally, there are 100 cm in a metre, so you multiply and divide by 100! Eg. 234 cm = 2.34 m! So you see, there's lots to remember! Mathletics is fantastic for different conversion questions! Try these games to help you: To help to build a shed, click here! To help Jack build something else, click here! To become a postman, click here! To become a measurement demon, click here! Here is the template for Brooke's esafety poster. When completed, you will be able to find out about how to stay safe on the internet.... Next week, we will be reading instructions. Try the game below (that was a command) to check you understand the features. Top Tip: We will also be looking at spelling endings so attempt the fishing game here. In Music, we have been learning to read notes (D and E) and their lengths (minims at the moment). Watch our performance below! Elle came up with an alternative way to perform - which do you prefer? Can you remember what a noun, adjective, verb and adverb are from our rap? Next week, we will be looking at the most efficient (quick and accurate) ways to multiply.
You'll need good times tables knowledge, so test yourself with these: http://www.multiplication.com/games/play/granny-prix http://resources.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk/maths/timestable/interactive.htm This week's Star of the Week is Reece. He has done lots of great school work, dealt maturely with others and his costume for Children in Need was brilliant.
Well done, Reece! Well done last week for the potential school councillors who gave such great speeches. We are proud with who we have chosen. In other news, well done to Roan who was our star of the week last week as he showed great maturity in class and around school! |
