What are his powers?
Why had the school been damaged?

The Star of the Week was Abbie, for preparing herself for lessons and always acting on feedback in both Literacy and Numeracy!
This week has been a blogging bonanza so it has been very hard to choose a best Blogger of the Week. Thus, the following children who did the 100 word challenge online are the winners: Rose, Lucy, Alyssa, Jack F., Ryan, Adam and Kristen. Nathan gave us the Sentence of the Week: "Unfortunately, we will have to make some new boats because in the storm they got wrecked." Meanwhile, Curtis won Text of the Week. You can hear a (very expressive) recording of his persuasive argument below! Well done, everyone - keep working hard! Next week, is assessment week.
In Literacy, here is the timetable: Monday - Reading and Grammar / Spelling - here are some of the best Grammar weblinks to help you: http://resources.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk/literacy/index.htm or there are Bitesize games here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/ks2/english/spelling_grammar/ Wednesday - 100wc - The prompt this week is: …slowly the sky got darker… Don't forget to look at examples before the lesson! Friday - Writing assessment (Watch the video above for ideas). In Big Writing today, we developed arguments about whether to leave Bryher wracked by storms by adding 'posh' openers and facts to strengthen our ideas. We, of course, used our 'posh' voices to record them!
After last time's fabulous efforts, who is the poshest here? This week, we are going to do Big Writing using the iPads. It will work similarly to the usual Big Writing sessions.
Reflect on what you have gained from Sports Week. Don't forget writing using technology is still our best writing! Consider: Openers with clauses (When, Although, If, Excited, Feeling ..... , Nervously, etc.) Connectives - because, so, thus, furthermore. Punctuation - " ", ! ? .... - - ( ) Powerful words - especially for movement and feelings. |
