Imagine that you want to stay up late to watch a programme on television. You have chosen to write a letter to your parent / carer so you can give the best reasons and support it with statistics (you can make them up!)
Write 2/3 reasons why you should be allowed this.
Don't forget a greeting (Dear .....) and signing off (Love from).
Remember: Although it is informal, still use openers (WAI) etc.
Be persuasive (using emotive language, questions and facts / figures)
Dear Mam,
Can I please stop up to watch the programe on the T.V! Let's see, if my bed time is 9:00pm and the programe starts at 9:30pm and finishes at 10:30pm that is 1 and a half hours extra. Furthermore, I will stop in bed in the morning an extra 1 and a half hours then, I will gain the sleep back. 99.4% of sleep experts say that if you le your child stop up later and let him/her have the wasted time be in bed in the morning then your child will actually gain 25 minutes of extra time. Besides you also like to watch the same programe !!
Hope this helped you make your decision!!

Those sleep experts know what they are talking about - is he called Kevin Connolly by any chance? Good arguments.
Dear Mam,
I’m writing this letter to ask if I could stay up tonight for an extra half an hour to watch Coronation Street. I am going to give a few reasons on why I should be allowed to watch this program.
Firstly, I think I should watch Coronation Street because it shows me what feelings children have when their parents have split up. Another reason is, I should watch this program because it has no bad violence, just a bunch of drama that happens on the street. Finally, the last reason is, I don’t see why I shouldn’t watch this particular program because there is some funny bits in it and children from my age downwards.
I hope this helps you make your decision.

Terrific organised arguments. Great openers to structure your ideas. Did it work?
Dear mam,
I am writting this letter to ask if I could stay up tonight for an extra 15 minutes to watch coronation street. Here is some reasons why I should be allowed to watch this program.
My first reason is because it has no bad language or violence in it. My second reason is because I get to know how other children feel when their parents split up.My third reason is because it is humorous and it is only 15 minutes after I go to bed. I don't see why I shouldn't watch this programme.
After hearing these reasons I hope it will help you make your decision.

A small request - 15 minutes. Well done for using posh language like humourous.
Don't forget: Names of programmes (eg. Coronation Street) need capitals. Great letter!

Can I stay up just for another 30 mintues so I can watch Emmerdale, I will give some reason why I should be aloud to stay up.

Well done for using statistics to back up your argument. Saying 'Trust me' also is persuasive.
Don't use i - use a capital I!

Dear Mam,
Please can I stay up an extra 30 minutes to watch Eastenders. Here are some reasons why I should be allowed
My first reason is that we both enjoy watching this programme. When I will go to bed, I will go to sleep straight away. Furthermore, it will help me to get through emotional breakdowns. My final reason is that it is suitable for kids because the programme has kids included on it.
I hope you agree that you will let me stay up to watch Eastenders

An organised letter and some good openers. You have appealed to your mum effectively.
With a few extra words, you could have used a Kevin Connolly type character to support your argument with statistics.

Dear mum,
i have been wanting to stay up for a while to watch the end of my movie here is my reasons why i want you to let me.
firstly i wouldnt have to wait for the afternoon of the next day to watch the end of it because i would need to see the end to understand the movie. If i didnt understand it. Also i would be able to see you for a little bit more because through the day we both have to work or go to school, that means we dont see each other. My final reason is that i could let you have more time down stairs so you dont have to read me a bed time story.
Hope you understand.

An excellent argument. You have openers well (although some commas with them would show your 'breathing) and persuasive language.
Don't forget those capitals (example: i and to start sentences)

Dear Mam,
I’m writing this letter to ask if I could stay up and watch some television like emerdale.here are some reasons on why I should be allowed to watch television!

3 good reasons to persuade your mum, supported by good explanation of your reasons using because.
Could you add a rhetorical question to further convince her?

Dear mam,
I want to ask you if I could stay up an extra hour tonight to watch a programme called Frozen Planet,
My first reason is that it is a very educational programme which learns you all about the planet and how animals evolved and survive in the wild.
My second reason is, it shows me how important animals really are to the earth.
I hope you let me watch this programme and I promise I will help you do the housework tomorrow night and you are always telling me to look after MOTHER EARTH.
Love always jasmine x

Lots of technical vocabulary and emotive language (and you are always telling me to look after MOTHER EARTH!). Very good!
Perhaps you could add more detail in your second reason. Eg. If I don't get to watch this programme, I wouldn't be able to learn ......

Some terrific openers and use of statistics to support your idea.
Your writing would benefit from proof reading for capitals and full stops
