On Remembrance Day (11th November) here in the UK and in other parts of the world we are commemorating those who lost their lives in war.

The prompt this week is:

You can use your 100 words to write about any subject with this topic. Please make sure you include the word 'Remembering' somewhere in your writing - it might be perfect for an Ed-Ing-Ly sentence!

Remerging day
Oh! you who sleep in Flanders Fields,
Sleep sweet - to rise anew!
We caught the torch you threw
And holding high, we keep the Faith
With All who died with you.
We cherish, too, the poppy red
That grows on fields where valour led;
It seems to signal to the skies
That blood of heroes never dies,
But lends a lustre to the red
Of the flower that blooms above the dead
In Flanders Fields.
We all love the people who has died in the wore. We wish they survived.

Flanders field.

FLANDERS Field is where the war took place.
Flanders Field is a place were the poppies blow row up on row.
Between 1914 and 1918 more than 15 million men and women lost their lives fighting in ww1 just to save our precious lives.
Thousands of people stand up and have a 2 minutes silence so they can support peoples friends and family who has lost their lives in the war.
Ww1 began on the 28 July 1914 and ended on the 11 of November 1918, which is also known as Rememberance day.
Also on Christmas day they stopped fighting and the Germans & English played football in no mans land which is between trenches, and gave each other gifts. After Christmas the war began again.

In world war 1 in the trenches there was plot of nose because of the guns firing.
At night we would have rats run over us at one point one woke me up just as I got to sleep so I garbed it and launched it at one of my friends and I woke him up but it bounced of his head and then I went strait back to sleep. Most of the time we would trench foot onastly you can shoot a bullet at it and you would not feal a thing.you would expect it to be supper super panful.

Adams 100 word challenge

It's the start of the battle and I'm frozen to the spot as I hear the whistling approaching. I try to run, but I am too scared, with the smell of smoke in my nostrils and the scream of machine gun fire in the air.
“Incoming,” screams Jack. I feel something hit me and knock the air out of me like stuffing from a rag doll. Wind brushes past my face and mud fills my mouth and nostrils. Then Jack is lying on top of me in a trench and shouting to “stay down!”. I will always be remembering jack!

Thank you for remembering the people who took up there own time to serve there country in war!

It was Sunday. I nearly fell out of bed when I woke with such a shock, as my alarm went off at half past eight. As soon as I was dressed, I stepped out of the door. A funny looking portal was ahead of me. Somehow I had just been transported to a graveyard with white crosses and lots of people in odd looking outfits. It made me feel very melancholic. It was Remembrance Sunday. I heard the soldiers chanting my name, Charlotte remember me, we are remembering you. I had just died. At 11am on the 11th November men, women and children all across the UK have a two minutes silence to remember the millions of dedicated solders who died in war. The first two minute silence was held on the 11th November 1919, when King George v asked the public to observe a silence at 11am. He made the request so, “The thoughts of everyone may be used on reverent remembrance of the glorious dead”. The silence is usually used at war memorials, cenotaphs( a monument remembering people who died in the war), religious services and shopping centres. We salute the Patriotic men who fought for our Country.

I woke up this morning with a feeling I'd never felt on 11th of November. Normally, I just wake up, have my 2 minutes silence and get on with my day but today was different. Today, I felt as if I should do something to show I am remembering the soldiers that died through 1914-1918. I closed my eyes and thought about the people who risked their lives to save our country. As I looked out my window, I saw a peculiar looking shadow calling my name. "You may have won the battle but you will never win the war"! It was a German soldier!

A very accurate, interesting piece of writing. I was impressed how you combined the past and present tenses at the start.

It sounds like the start of a great adventure. However, could you have ended with a question instead of revealing it was a German soldier so directly? What about: A black helmet loomed. Were my eyes deceiving me?

“Help!” Yelled desperate children from everywhere. It’s World War I. (Dttt dtttt) The sound of bullets seems to go on forever. One of Germanys troops was taken out, however there are many more. “What’s the plan? Never mind I’m remembering it,” whispered one of England troops. The army group he was with, sneaked into Germany’s base and took the guards out one by one starting with the Snipers. All the guards were taken out, letting England’s entire army into Germany’s base! However it was a decoy base and it had a small but deadly bomb in it...

Another great adventure story. You have used lots of punctuation really accurately. The ending also leaves the reader wanting to find out the solution to the dilemma.

2/3 lines use the present tense instead of the past - can you see where?

In the UK at 11am on the 11th November, men and woman went to war to get us our freedom. They did so much and every one in the UK and in other parts of the world in memory of the soldiers. The first ever silence was on the 11th of November 1919. The remembering has been going on for 94 years. The remembrance is based on World War I. They will always be remembered by everyone. The two minuets of silence will carry on for as long as the human race continues. We won't forget.

Good research Drew and your sentences are clear; the last one has impact as it is so short!

Don't forget your LTTs. Apart from the first sentence (In the UK), every sentence starts with a simple pronoun. What openers could you add? In addition, Furthermore, etc.
