I have a pet dog called pip, he 1 years old. When we got him he was the size of my hand, but he is an awfal lot biger. Every time we take him for a walk its damp and he gets wet by going on the grass. After the walk we dry him with the dog blankit, then he runs in the sitting room and rolles around scraped his hed on the floor. At midnight pip was barking at leo my cat, he is 18 years old and really thin, really thin but he is heavy. The next morning i got ready and playd with pip,

Don't forget names need capitals: Pip not pip. Can you find another name which needs a capital?

I have a pet cat called Cheako, he is really cheeky. I think he's 1 or 2 yrs old. Cheako scratches a lot if you tickle his tummy. He left me a scratch near my eye and nose. His eyes use to be blue but now his eyes are a differrent colour. When Cheako was little he never scratch me. When he was little he bit my DSi before. When I open the back door Cheako always went shooting out. When the sun is shining he always lies down on his tummy.

How fascinating that his eyes changed colour! I'm sure he is very fond of you even though he accidentally scratched you. You have used great openers (WAI sentences). After last week's lessons, can you think where to put the commas? Remember: Buy an opener, get a comma free!

Hi Luke,

Hope your first day at the Comp went well! I am guessing you might want to keep your website, but eventually I will have to delete a few of our old class' sites to make way for the new class. If you could ask a few of your friends to see if any of them are not too bothered if their sites are taken down, then that would be useful. Of course, if they want to keep them, they should say so too!

Hi Kieran,

It did come up but it was very long (more than 600 words).

Remember 100 - 200 words of really good quality work with capitals and full stops is the aim. I have a copy of it, which we can count as your homework, but I'm sure you could edit it a little first for this site.

I understand I had no idea it was more than 600 words its just that I did alot in the holidays but I did alot more than I put on. Plus im lucky my keyboard was working evenmore it wasnt working alot though

The first day of the 6 weeks started like this I went on a bike ride with chloe,brynn and kaine.Then,i played with Cerri at oakies park then we came home for tea we had pizza and chips with garlic from pizza corner.On the 3rd day I gone for a walk with my mam,dez and the Hannaby family. Four weeks later,i got the bus to Chester market to get my new uniform ready for a new adventure in year 6."we all got a pastie and a sausage roll from Peters the bakery". However on the way back to stanley on the bus a dog barked from the middle of no were it was so funny!! finally,On the monday before school i was helping my mam to get the clothes in off the washing line and my dog Butch done his bussness on my leg it was disgusting.(i went and jumped into the steaming hot bubble bath.)

You clearly had a nice time. Well done for using a comma with Four weeks later, and brackets too! The phrase 'a new adventure' is appealing too.

Don't forget to use a capital I (with the shift button) instead of i. Also, names of people and places (Oakies, Stanley, Butch) need capitals. Can you find any more?

Out of all the pets we ever had (gerbils, mice and other dogs), Ceri (pronounced 'Kerry'), our Welsh border collie was the most loved. With a sleek black body and glorious white stripe on her nose, she was many things in our family: a speeding bullet after a tennis ball, a hamburger thief, a jellyfish vomiter after a trip to the seaside, and a comforting presence at our feet on cold nights. She was gentle, loving and remains remembered in the Temple family, long after she went!

Once there was a tadpole named bob and he lived in a big pound with his family and friends. One day as he was swimming to school he stuck his head up and looked at the sky. He wondered what it would be like to be out of the pound. Then a couple of frogs hoped over the pound. As he sighed all his friends came rushing passed. Very disappointed he carried on swimming to school. It’s had just turned 9:00 and the maths books were given out. The teacher started to teach but bob wasn’t listening, he was too busy wondering what it would be like to meet a human. On the way home he looked up again and a huge thing was coming towards the pound. It put a stick in the water and started to stir it around then a huge thing with what he thought were fish dipped in the water and picked up bob. He screamed and screamed but nobody came to save him. His head popped out of the water and that was the first time he met a human. Also it was the first time he was out of the pound. THE END

I really enjoyed the story and I like it how Bob is only ever focusing on what it would be like outside of the pond.My favourite part is probally the part 'he screamed and screamed but no-one came' because your describing the way he felt. It is great but it would be even better if you could correct Pond instead of Pound.

I agree with Mr. Temple. It sounds like when Bob got his two wishes, his adventure had only just begun. You should absolutely work on an epilogue to this story. On another note, the name of my trumpet is Bob. It's a name that always makes me laugh. :)

The very first thing i did on my 6 weeks holidays was relax and enjoy not being at school by laying in bed on the xbox on fifa 11 then when i turned the xbox of i lay down and fell asleep i woke up 1 hour later and and decided to write a story about a demon who gets revenge on his bullys i have still not fully writ it after i writ two pages i stopped and lay down on the reclynr chair and watched some tv then i watched one of my favourite movies monster house and that was most of my first day.

Four days later me luke and my mum and my mams friend steven it took aproximtely 1 hour and a half two get thier but it was worth it When we got thier the first thing we did was find a parking space which didnt take long then we had a walk about then my mam decided we should go on a boat which i didnt agree on because i get a bit sick so unlucky two them we kept on walking we went on a bridge and seen some donkeys on the beach we kept on walking and we seen something rude drawn on the beach we walked on even more and we seen two people geting there wedding photos took Finally we went to our main thing CRAB FISHING!!!!!!!!! i loved it all ov us caugh 64 fish altogher then we went home. Soon after that week we went two the sunderland air show which was pretty boring from my opinion but we went two a fish and chip stand and i got a jumbo sausage as soon as we ate we went two a raffle and we won nothing i didnt mind though because we went on a jet simulater that was FUN FUN FUN after all of that we went home nd that was another day out

Another day out we went two thecoast we all had fun we even brung our dog bella she really liked the water my mums friend steven buried me to my waist then the wind started blowing the sand was blowing of us our clothes go really sandy but to brightenit all up we got some ice cream then we went back home and thatwas the end of the day

On another day my dad took me to the metrocentre for my birthday but it wasnt my birthday though it was two weeks away but i went then because my dad wont see me on my birthday when i got to the metro i went to lots of shops but the one i liked the most was sports direct i got a football and was going to get manchester uniteds new strip buti didnt i got tired so i desided i to go home and when i got home i got a takeaway and that was one of my best days out

It was leading up to my birthday so i decided i was going to do some drawings when i draw i feel like i can draw anything i want like vincent van gogh he inspires me to draw because he did all of those amazing photos

Today it was a great day for me it was my birthday i wanted to go see diary of a wimpy kid 3 dog days so my mum took me to see it i got an extra large slushy with a mix ofchery and blueberry after i went in to see it i was amazed to see it best film i ever saw

For the rest of the holidays i just writ drawed and got my mum to give me some maths and that was my holiday but i forgotcapital letters and full stps

It would be even better if you spent time editing for capital letters (I not i) and for full stops to show your editing skills.

In the holidays I went to my Aunties house and went on the Wii and library which she lives next too after that I came home and went on Fifa 12 on my Xbox that was fun After that I went on the computer and played on it then I played on the garages then went on my Xbox while I had my tea I had Chips next I played Football hitting the garages I then went back on my computer when my Dad was at work I played Fifa 12 on my Xbox again then my Sister came over and annoyed me then the next day I went to Beamish with my Mam and Sister we went down the mine then I went home then me and my Auntie went to Chester Le Street park there was a fair thereon Monday then again on Wednesday I went on this thing that twists I went on Holiday we went in town every day plus the club even when it was raining I missed the fair back in tanfield unfortunly but I still had fun I got 2 new Xbox games and we went to the beach it was freezing when it was in and boiling when it out I was sick some days and thats what I did on my holiday

Well done for telling us all of the activities over your holidays. You have used lots of time connectives.

It would be better if you used full stops. Remember 1 or 2 lines of typed work need full stops. Otherwise the reader runs out of breath!

My dog Willow

My pet dog is called Willow, she is an 8 months old springer spaniel. She is mainly white with liver patches and has a white fleck on her left ear. She is the only puppy in her litter that had to be delivered by caesarean at the vets, she is very lucky to be here. When we take her for a walk she always goes in the stream, then we take her into the fields were she has a good run and tries to catch swallows. At home when she is lying in the middle of the carpet we tease her by saying “is there a birdie in your garden, seek the birdies" then her tale wages as fast as a speed boat and she runs to the door. We let her out and despite there being no birds she goes crackers running around the garden. Alough she dosent like being bathed, she loves geting dryed with a flufy towel (she gets very exited). We have bought many toys, most of them only last 10 minutes, but she has a duck that seems to be her favorate, also it has lasted the longest. also she loves playing with empty plastic bottels.She is a beautiful and loving dog.

Ben, your dog sounds amazing and very similar to mine. My dog, Cocky, also has toys that last about 10-15 minutes. Her favorite ones are squeaky toys; however, the squeaky part is always the first to die. :) Her goal is to see how fast she can rip that part out of the stuffed animal. I'm the crazy owner that keep buying. It makes my heart smile to see how happy she is at her success. Like your dog, Cocky was a rescue dog from the Humane Society, so she is also lucky to be here. I have a feeling both of our dogs are just as happy to have wonderful owners that love them. :) Thanks for sharing!

Your dog sounds really nice! Your writing was really good because you explained all about your dog. I really liked the sentence with Despite and the funny part where you said "Is there a birdie in your garden". It was amazing that you used 'Although'. It would be even better if you put th in.

What detailed description of your dog's appearance and personality. We really get an idea of Willow's enthusiasm chasing animals with its wagging tail.

On the first day of my holidays I was travelling to Scarborough, primrose valley it took 3 and a half hours to get there! Although it took long it was definitely worth it! The first day on my holidays was great I explored everywhere on the caravan sight the second day my dog arrived, Buddy he is 2 years old. Because buddy had come we took him on long walks down the beach every day he loved it! He kept paddling in the water then he was swimming I also got in with him (not swimming) but paddling we walked for miles across the beach and it was really hot. We walked for about 3 and half hours every day it was exhausting. On the third day we all walked down to the swimming baths I went on a really carry slide where its pitch black and you have to switch on every light but some times gooey slimy stuff would come on top of you if you pressed on the wrong light it was so funny! On day four we all went on a big pedal bat around all the different lakes my dad followed us with buddy around the lake. Buddy love water so he tried to jump in we were all laughing (ha-ha) then we went on speed boats me and Ross crashed into each other so we got soaked. After that we got a delicious mouth-watering cool ice cream it was delicious. Later on that night we went to the amusements I spent £20 on 1 thing it was one of those grabbing things but I won about 40 toys so it was worth it! On the fifth day we went to the theme park, it was great! I went on the ferries wheel and had a panic attack the guy put it on full extreme of fastness because the were no little ones on. My mum had to get the guy to stop he ride for me after I came off I was shaking like a leaf (I never went on that ride again) A few minus later I went on the twister it was so so hilarious later that day, I went on the simulator 4 times it was super cool. At about half past 8 we went to the disco (I didn’t get up and dance) The next day the 6th we where pacing up to go home ready for the next day I was sad I didn’t want to leave this fun place but I knew I had to. About a hour later I went back to the amusements and guess witch game I went on? If you said the… grabbing came you where CORRECT I spent another! £10 pound on that the n I played a game of pool with my brother jack. Next I had a ice hockey game with my brother Ross after that I went back to the caravan and had a take away it was lovely! A few hours later I went to splash zone that is where it’s a huge swimming baths with slides a big bucket that fills right to the top and then it explodes the was all kinds such as the monkey bars it was really fun the life guard was trying to make me fall of he was squirting water at me the he was shaking the rope (but unfortunately he never knocked me of) ha! It sharp game to midnight so we went to the club and watched a show for the very last night. Eventually it came the final day I didn’t want to leave that place it was so fun I had the best time of my life!!! After the 3 hour drive to get home we arrived it was really nice to be back in my own bed but of course I will never forget about it ~happy holiday memories~

What a detailed recount. What kind of toys did you win on the amusement arcades. I remember when I was little, my brother won a digital watch, but the metal on the back turned his skin green. Urgh!

You packed so much fun into your few days: swimming, soaking, shows, a theme park. "Full extreme of fastness" captures the fear of the ride!

With all your openers, it would be even better if you used a comma. Remember, 'Buy an opener, get a comma free!'

hiya new year 6's! Are you all looking forward to the SAT's? I am kinda settling in at the comp. I'm getting there eventually because all i need to do now is find my way round.

Mr Temple, if it's no bother, i would like to keep my site a little longer please!! Do you like your new year 6's?

My P.E teacher is very strict aswell as my music teacher!! (Mrs Walton as my English teacher and Mr Stevenson as my music teacher!) Other than that, my first week has went okay. x :)

Mr. Temple, would you mind if I opened this 100 Word Challenge to my students? It would be a great way for them to start writing in their writer's notebook, and then publish their writing for a real world purpose. I would also love to write about my summer holiday, but I'm afraid it would take way more than 100-200 words, as it was the most unforgettable of my life!

My students were very excited to participate in last week's 100 WC. It was a great way to get them started in their writer's notebooks (WN). Some have even decided to start a section in their WN called "Possible 100WC Topics." We'll keep you posted! :)

My cats tiger and lily.

I have two cats called Tiger and Lily,they are 2 almost 3, Their Birthday is November the 9th and i got them 6 weeks after they were born.Tiger has an unusal pattern because she has black stripes down one side of her body and black spots down the other,Where as Lily is all black exept his paws which are white and he has a white ring around his tail.You might be wondering which gender they are but even if your not i will tell you Lily is a male and Tiger is a female, I guess your laughing now because most people do, We thought they were both girls so we called them after the flower Tigerlily.When we first got them,they were the size of my hand and they used to climb the christmas tree and hide under the sofa and run around as fast as they could.Although now their always out and about and we hardly see them but i guess their just more adventurous.Lily has once broke his jaw and had to have a wire through his chin, As for Tiger she's never been injured except for when Aimee accedentily stood on her tail. My cats Tiger and Lily are lovable and i love them so much!

MY HOLIDAYS
I went to my nanas for two weeks and i went to a christening and helpped with the food and the food that i made aswell as my nana becasue she puts stuff in the fryer like spring rolls and samosas but i made a pie a cornbeef pie it was nice as a
chicken nugget. I went to Allensford park, a few minutes later i went to the shop and i bought a can of coke and a bar of choclate with my freinds dan, conner, while we were at the park we went on the roundabout and the zipwire.At South Shields on the weekend we went to the shows i hooked a duck and won a prize, the prize was a
gun with plastic darts.I went fishing with my dad, we just sat down
to fish when the horses came running into the field, me and my dad jumped up and stopped still untill they went over to my dads frenid
me and my dad looked at a rod it was a broken rod by the horses.

Durham Cathedral
Durham Cathedral is famous for many things. One of those things is St Bede being burried under the Cathedral for a very long time. Another one of things is a lot of artifacts in the Cathedral. You can go up the Cathedral and get a great view. There is also more people burried under the Cathedral and there is a lot of bats that sleep on the walls and the roof of tyhe Cathedral. There is a cafe in the Cathedral and buses to and from the Cathedral aswell. Would you like to go up the Cathedral?

On my hoilidays I went to my grandma`s house for two nights and I went to Amble .Also I went to the Jingling gate at 6:00 clock and when I came back I went to bed and stayed up until my grandma came up .But in that night time me and my sister gets told off just because we went for a drink of water and she shouted at us.And my sister said to my grandma well do you want us to dehidrate .Although it was funny that she said that but my grandad dose not tell us off alot as much as my grandma does.

On friday after school I went to my grandmas to have dinner then i went to play in the park with my to sisters after that i went to asda to do shopping.at stanley we went to the highstreet to boots after that,we went home when i got home i went to play on the trampoline,when it got dark i went in to go to bed. On saturday morning my baby cousain woke every body up so i got up and had my breakfast and then i got dressed and took my cousain on the trampoline to play, at 2:00 we went to my aunties to have a bbq we stayed there till 7:30 then we came home and went to bed. on sunday morning i had my breakfast then i got in the bath and then i got dressed then i sat down to do my homework and then had some lunch i played on the trampoline and then im going to have dinner then im going to bed early for school.

On the hoildays I went on hoilday and I went to south shields it was great fun. I stayed in a hotel. I met a girl called Ella.Me , Ella and Ellie went on the beach we biuled sand castles. Until it was time to go in. When it was the next day we called on Ella we went to the fair and went on the shugy boat. After the week we went back home it was so good to be back home .

My puppy Ollie, coming home for the first time.

In the 6 weeks holidays, my family decided to get a puppy. We went to a house near Gateshead to pick him up We had the choice of two boy puppys, there were 3 but someone else took the only girl just before we arrived. After a while, we met their Dad, then we met their Mum. Then their parents went back into their cage and we had a little chat with the breeders about the dogs. My mam pointed at Ollie and explained, "I like that ones markings."
A few munutes later we decided to take Ollie. So we paid the breeders, and we went to our Gran and Grandad's house to show them our new puppy!
On the way their we were all thinking of what to call him.
When we got to my Gran and Grandad's, we all sat on the floor and played with the puppy. Also, my Grandad gave Ollie a ball to take home. Then we said goodbye, got in the car and went home.
Eventually, we got home. The puppy was shaking and was scared, I sat on the floor and he gave me cuddles for the rest of the night.
So that is what happened when we brought Ollie home for the first time!

On my holidays I went to Beamish with my cousin Allanah and my Nan. It was so exciting the first thing we did when we got there was we waited in the line to get onto the tramn that takes you arround the whole site. Eventually when we got on the tram we sat down. I sat next to Allanah my Mam and Dad sat next to each other and my Nan and brother sat next to each other. Then most suddenly there was a jolt and everyone stopped talking then they chatted again. Finally the tram started and me and Allanahsaid " Hurray we have been waiting for ages." We loked out off the tram window which was a bit dirty and look for the first stop then suddenly the man shouted "First stop farm and on the other side the old school and church the mines a cafe' and much,much more!"I was so excited. First we went to the farm I couldn't wait to see what animals there were at the farm. So I rushed ahead but then my Dad called back "Wait for us because you can go faster then us so wait up or we won't go to the farm allright"and so then i replied "Allright" After when we got to the farm we seen a fence there was a little sign written in red saying (Bull in field) so I told my Mam,Dad,Brother,.Nan and cousin what it said.

My 100-200 word challange is me going to America for 2 years hers how it starts.

When I went to America I went on a plane with my mam my dad and my sister.When the plane landed we got our siutcasses and headed to our new house.When I saw my new house I was Amazed I never knew how big it was going to be.The day later my mam took me to my new school it was gigantic it was like a hospatail.I went into my classroom and met a friend straight away she was called Adison.She was a Aersome friend!3 days later when I was getting used to my new school Adison keept on wearing sparkles so me and my teacher Miss Mole desidedto call her sparkle.It was the end of school this part is fantastic it is were I needed to ride in a yellow school bus.When I got of the bus I saw my next door naibur she had blonde hair I went over to her and said "do you want to play"she said "ok"so we went off and played and became best friends but then I meet loads of other friends like Ashlyn and Elaine I went over her house and had lots of sleepovers shes my pal it was the best sleepovers ever.My mam and dad had best friends witch was tim and cris there coming over to our country to visit and we went in the pool evrey day it was the best days of my life.

One of our family pets was a tortoise called Jenny. Unusually for a tortoise she was a quick walker and so, when she was in the garden, we had to tie string round her shell so that we could find her easily. She would often forage under the plants and was hard to spot. Jenny loved eating lettuce. I think the thing I liked about Jenny the most was when I tickled her under her chin, if that is the correct terminology, she would stretch out her neck and you knew she loved the feeling.

One day I was taking my dog Willow for a walk in Harperley woods. Willow was running in the woods like a Looney chasing birds, sniffing out scents, playing with other dogs and most refreshing, most fun of all, swimming in the gushing stream. Then I took her up into the farmers field were she ran around faster and more franticly than ever before. But then, without warning, she stopped as still as stone. "Willow!" I shouted, she was ignoring me, then she darted away, as fast as light, out of sight. I went after her but she had vanished. I ran home as quickly as possible to alert my parents, but as soon as I stepped onto the drive I heard panting, looking behind me I saw Willow standing there with a dead rabbit at her feet. "Come on then you daft dog," I said relieved.

there was a little deaf girl called maxine but she got called max for short.however she had a older brother called daneil and she would of had a baby sister called jessica but her mam kate had a still birth the baby was dead for 16 whole days in her mams stomac. however kate had a drinking problem but she never touched the drink for the whole year she was on medication to help her not to have nightmares. she went into a home where all the children went if they had not parent they would be called orphans. there was a nun who owned the place they was a girl called elesta she came from russia.they adopted her they was some thing very wrong with her because she was acting very strange around the others part from max she would do sighn language to her and she kept saying thaat elesta loves her and nothing bad would ever happen to her.elesta killed young sister abbiegail with a hammer and little max was they elesta asked if she would say any thing and she said NO then elesta found a gun and asked max if she would like to play max said no in fright elesta but maxes life in risk.she tryed to kill daniel by putting the tree house on fire while daniel was in side and she locked the latch daniel got out but jumped fom a grate hight so he was injured kate was never sure about elesta so she took her for some help but that didnt work.kates husband thought kate was mental but she wasnt. when they were in the hospital elesta went and suthercated daniel and turneed the machine off to try and kill him and kate shouted at elesta and slpped her accross the face. and the nurse shouted for bodyguards or some special doctor to give her a injection. kates husband took max a elesta home. thats when it all started.... elesta got all dresses up for kates husband after they put max to bed elesta took her earingaids and every thing back fired.... kate got a phone call of some people because kate was doing some research about elesta and it came back that she was 33 years old and she needs to get her family out of the house asap because she is very dangerouse. she tryed to phone her husband but no conection by that time elesta stabbed him so many times. by the timekate got home from the hosptal elesta went back to the safe to get the gun to shoot max but kate tuneed up elesta cut her arm the shot her leg but kate was looking for max but she wasnt to be seenkate seen her in the green house were her little baby sister's poem was with little white roses would of been growing however through the day she took the scssors and cut them all.elesta shot through the glass to shoot kate but the glass shatterd into loads of little peices and so thenkate got the gun and got max and ran into the forrest but elesta wasnt dead she chased her with a sharp knife kate but max down while elestra tryed to stab kate and the ice had came apart and so then elesta was in the ice cold water. then elesta went mammy help me and kate went am not your mammy and kicked her in the faceand got a hold of max and ran to the police officersand thats what happend to elesta she drowneded and max tolded her mother every thing what happend by pictures

"I take that as a yes," said Willie as a great smile spread across his face. They ran past the thatch cottages until they came across Zacks house. They stopped for a moment and sore Zack sitting on a wooden chair outside his house, strangely he was silent. Willie went over to see Zack, "Hi Za..." He was interrupted by a Sh coming from Zack who was holding the wireless on his lap. "Its a broadcast from the RAF. Listen," whispered Zack. "As the bombs dropped, we flew our planes to stop further deaths. Thousands have been killed!" said the radio as the transmission ended.

Cyber bullying is a form of bullying via the internet, such as e-mail, movie star planet, moshi monsters, bin weevils, mini monos, blogs and more. When someone is bullied they feel a mixture of: bad felling about them self’s and hatred of the person/people bullying them and eventually they will just get into a rage and some one always gets hurt. If we stopped bullying the world would be a better place to live in. To stop bullying in general all we have to do is don’t say mean things, don’t laugh when people fall down just help them back up

Steps;
1. Get up really early at around six o'clock as long as Santa has been.
2. Bring stocking into parent's bedroom and wake them up by jumping on the bed.
3. Open presents in stoking.
4. Go down stairs and open presents.
5. Check that Santa and his reindeers have eaten the food that you left for them
6. (Optional) play/ test toys
7. Have Christmas dinner then pull Christmas crackers with friends / family
8. Give and exchange presents between you and your family.
9. Enjoy the rest of the day with your family and friends.
