After serious internet problems this week, we are up and running again.
On Tuesday we celebrated World Book Day with Nick Sharratt coming in to talk about, amongst other things, pants and socks!

Save the Children, together with Beanstalk are very aware that not being able to read handicaps children’s progress and have launched a campaign and programme called Born to Read for children who are struggling. This is a big task and so they have asked if 100 Word Challenge can join in the campaign to ‘Change the Story’ for children. The prompt this week is to chose your favourite fairy story and rewrite it in 100 words changing the ending. Don't forget to comment on our Quadblogging partners' blogs - because next week they will come to us! Here are some examples: Following work based on Language by Porter Robinson, found here at the brilliant Literacy Shed, we wrote narrative episodes, featuring a dramatic start.
Enjoy the recordings below: We have been learning about the Highwayman Poem by Alfred Noyes.
We discussed what makes a good poetry performance and here it is: It might be useful for tomorrow's Big Writing, where we will retell the story. We are packed and ready to go. After that, we have the final challenge activity. See you all soon... |
