The dark hunt. I was heading into the forest with only a dagger and a bow and arrows. I heard a big bang and I looked were it came from. Slowly the sky got darker... I started to feel excited because I thought it was going to be something huge, I was correct it was a giant grizzly bear I hid behind a oak tree and loaded by bow with a toxic arrow. I could only touch them because I had special skin. Suddenly the tree I was hidden started to move! It ripped out of the ground. When it started moving I I turned round and shot the bear with the arrow and it fell to the ground! I rang my boss and he said "well done Thunder!"
At first I wondered if this was a story set in England around 1500 years back when brown bear still roamed but ringing the boss tells me it's a modern adventure. A hunter stalking prey in the forests of what must be America makes a good use of the prompt. I assumed America because grizzlies are native there. Well done. :)
What I enjoyed in this story was its mix of ancient, modern and magic. It had me guessing details until they were revealed. I think grizzly bear hunting is legal in parts of America but to face one with only a dagger and bow would be very risky. The bear might win.
Although you were a little over the word limit for this prompt, you were able to develop your story and add a few surprises. I hope you keep entering the 100WC.

This is quite the story! Very interesting.
Be sure to proofread your work. You missed a few words here and there. Also be careful with your punctuation as you have a very long sentences starting, "I started to feel...". Those little things can really help your story be easier to read and understand. Keep writing!
