Year 6 will be singing one of my favourite carols for this year's Carol Service: a very upbeat one called Calypso Carol! I wonder if anyone can find out what 'calypso' means or where it is from?
After lots of research, I have found out what calypso means and where it is from. The name Calypso means eclipse meaning to obscure the light from or to another. Calypso is from a traditional folk carol from the West Indies.
It is a very fun song and I can't wait to sing it at the carol service
(I have been practicing, quite a lot!)
