Today, we listened to and sang 'In the Ghetto' by Elvis Presley. We discussed how 'ghettoes' (places of poverty in the cities) were common in the early 1950s as the world recovered from the Second World War. As we had some budding Elvises in the class, the video below gives you a chance to sing with the lyrics. I'm looking forward to the Talent Show.... In Numeracy, we looked at division word problems, particularly where you have to round your answer up or down. For example, how many teams of 5 can you make from 34? 34 / 5 is 6 r 4. So is it 6 teams or 7? Let Millie and Martine explain to you: Since we last looked at the visitor flags, there have been visitors from 10 new countries!
